Byron Bay Kitesurfing is one of Australia's longest running kitesurfing schools, established in 2000. After 20 years of recieving great feedback from our students, we believe that our course structures and teaching methods are second to none!
Our Beginnings
Jason established Byron Bay Kitesurfing in 2000 as a natural extension to his windsurfing school, Wind'n'Water Action Sports which he founded in Lennox Head NSW in 1994.
Since then, Byron Bay Kitesurfing has taught thousands of students to kitesurf and more recently to hydrofoil.
Meet the team
All of our kitesurfing instructors are fully accredited IKO and KA trained with a broad base of knowledge in wind and water sports. After 20 years of receiving feedback from our students we believe that the course structures and teaching methods to be second to none!
Jason (Founder)
Jason is an experienced waterman having started windsurfing in 1981. Jason has taught over 5000 students in 20 years. He competed in the NSW and National wave titles with a best result in 2006 of equal first place. Jason holds a Bronze Medallion, a senior first aid certificate, and has kitesurfed in Australia, Fiji, Hawaii, the USA, Cook Islands, Vanuatu and Mauritius.
Ika
Ika is an Examiner and Instructor of kiteboarding. He is a Passionate watersports man, Surfer, Kiteboarder, Windsurfer, Sailor and Scuba Diver. Ika was junior sailing champion of Yugoslavia in the Laser and Finn class in 1993-1996. Ika has lived abroad from year 2000. He is fluent in English, Spanish and basic German and has orked in tourism for the last 16 years.
Ze
Ze from Cape Verde is a true waterman and professional kitesurfer in the strapless surf discipline. He has been windsurfing and surfing since he was a child. Having taught 1000's of people how to kitesurf and windsurf, he has joined our team this season. Having owned his own kitesurfing school in Puerto Rico for 12 years.
